Rule 1 - Before you pay for Search Engine Optimization ("SEO") services by someone who cold-called you, just showed up in town, or sent you spam email offering to help you get better placement on Google, do some homework. Google their name, Google their company name, and Google all the phone numbers you can associate with them.
If you find nothing of any interest, we suggest you worry. If you find tons of scam reports, read them and make your own judgement.
Rule 2 - You can't shine dirt. SEO is useless unless the site is set up properly. (Bill makes sure your site is set up right to begine with. He even reveals his deepest secrets for doing so in our blog.)
Rule 3 - If the site is done properly, you are already 80% done with SEO.
Rule 4 - The remaining 20% will cost more than you want to pay, and you only need it if the extra sales you will realize are worth thousands of dollars a month.
Rule 5 - There are many alternatives for going after that 20%.
